Friendly £64,000 donation from Rock

Crisis-hit Northern Rock has donated the cash to the Moving On Support Scheme (Moss), securing its future for three years.
The service was set up with funding from Defra last year and is operated by mental health charity Eden Mind on behalf of Eden Carers, Eden Community Alarms and Age Concern Eden.
Eden Mind manager Chris Wood said: “This is fabulous news.
“We are delighted that the Northern Rock Foundation has recognised the enormous value of this service to the people who so desperately need it in our area – especially those who live in isolated rural communities.”
The scheme is now appealing for more volunteers.
Anyone interested should phone Wendy White on 01768 899002.
Northern Rock has promised to continue its charitable donations in the north east and Cumbria, despite a troubled six months in which it became the first bank for more than a century to experience a run on its reserves
